NEW YORK (AP) — Mets minor league infielder Cristopher Larez was suspended Monday for 56 games under baseball’s minor league drug program following a positive test for the performance-enhancing substance Boldenone.The 17-year-old Venezuelan agreed in January to a minor league contract with a $1.4 million signing bonus. He hit .274 with one homer, 13 RBIs and nine stolen bases in 12 chances in 24 games at the Dominican Summer League, playing 21 games at shortstop and two at second base.Twelve players have been disciplined under the minor league program this year.___AP MLB: https://apnews.com/hub/mlbSource

DENVER (KDVR) — Denver's weather added another 90-degree day to start the work week. At 2:17 p.m., the National Weather Service reported a record-breaking high temperature. The hottest Aug. 21 temperature on record was 97 degrees in 2007. DENVER (KDVR) — Denver Public Schools students had to deal with brutally hot temperatures on their first day of school Monday.It was especially tough for students at the 37 DPS schools without air conditioning. Traylor Academy, an elementary school in Bear Valley, is one of those schools. Third-grade teacher Madie Rinehart said the heat takes a toll. WASHINGTON (AP) — U.S. regulators on Monday approved the first RSV vaccine for pregnant women so their babies will be born with protection against the scary respiratory infection.RSV is notorious for filling hospitals with wheezing babies every fall and winter.
